Hot/Cold Packs
Cold packs can be used immediately following an injury, typically within the first 72 hours. Cold packs limit blood flow to the injured area, thus decreasing swelling, pain, and inflammation. Hot packs can be used to decrease pain and help relax muscles. Be sure to consult the doctor before applying either heat or ice. |

Biofreeze Biofreeze is a topical pain reliever
that can provide relief from sore muscles and joints. Unlike a lot
of other topical pain relievers, Biofreeze feels cool when applied,
doesn't leave a film on the skin, and doesn't have an overpowering
odor. Ask the doctor if Biofreeze might be right for you. |

Foam Rollers Foam Rollers have several applications
that can improve health. They can be used for core stabilization
exercises, which help to support the spine and prevent injury. Foam
rollers can also be used to break up adhesions in the muscle by
slowly rolling the tight muscle groups over the roller. Ask the
doctor if a foam roller could benefit you. |
